He wanted to go under water with human beings out of curiosity but his limited knowledge and limited breath did not allow it. Advances in technology and maritime have created many different diving techniques over time, making the deep seas much easier to conquer. Developments in the field of diving technologies in the 19th and 20th centuries have pioneered revolutionary advances. The first findings of human beings under water using some apparatus and techniques date back 5000 years. Five basic diving methods have been developed since then. The main dive methods with “saturation” diving which are the subject of our article are as follows:
1- Breath free diving
2- Bell diving
3- Skin diving
4- Surface-assisted helmet diving

Today, all of these methods are used in different ways depending on the need. Saturation dives are the most difficult, risky and costly among these dives. If we compare the saturation dive with the space shuttle, there will be no false analogy. Saturation dive has emerged with the support of diving technology and scientific data obtained from many sciences. This dive technique, which was developed with lessons learned from hundreds of deaths in deep dives, continues to have fatal consequences in the slightest error.
The greatest fear of diving experience when diving is known as decompression. Decompression is the formation of gas bubbles in the body due to the rapid passage from a high-pressure place under water to a low-pressure place. In pilots and divers, this is the biggest cause of death, especially during diving. What needs to be done with an acclaimed diver is to take it back to the same pressurized environment and wait for a while. However, since there is not enough pressure room in our country, it is not possible to prevent deaths. Nitrogen in the canon of an acclaimed diver can sometimes produce bubbles, such as a soaked soda pop, and it is not possible to avoid the fatal risk. On average, approximately five hours of rest is required for each 250-foot depth.

How to perform a saturation dive

A saturation dive is an emphasis, and a diving technique that completely eliminates limited working obstacles below 50 meters. In this diving technique, the general pressure hangars integrated into the ship and the divers staying in the pressurized chambers connected to these hangars are completely eliminated as they stay in similar pressure environments during the time they work under water. In addition to the risk of accent, divers can work for hours underwater. Saturation dive, which can be translated as saturation dive into Turkish, was first tried in 1964 and has been used actively for more than 30 years.
If we look at the saturation dive in detail, it is a very strange and dangerous work. Saturation divers are forced to work for days under 1000 feet of water for intercontinental pipeline or drilling platform construction. Because the nitrogen in the blood dissolves at such depths, this gas needs to disperse to the surface. Today, the work of saturation divers is highly risky and sensitive. It is a known fact that robotic diving equipment that is more durable than human underwater with developing technology exists, but none of these instruments has the ability to perform precise and flexible maneuvers as manned divers can. There is a very crowded team of saturation divers supporting them above the water while doing their jobs underwater. Underwater diving manager, diving supervisor, life support supervisor and life support technicians are the main ones. This team's coordinated work is important for the food and drink needs and comfort of divers who disconnect from the outside world for a long time. Saturation scuba diving is not something everyone can do. Even the simplest cold brings life-threatening dangers.
